Delivery Document is a document used in Logistics execution, and contains all the details regarding Picking, Packing, Shipping and Goods Issue. Normally a delivery document is created from ( with reference to) a Sales Document (Sales Order).
The delivery is a legally binding document that indicates that the shipment of goods or the delivery of services has been carried out. Without this document, goods can only be delivered if an invoice has already been created.
When a delivery is created, the corresponding goods issue is also recorded. The goods leave the warehouse, and the relevant inventory changes are recorded. When inventory is modified, the values in the accounting system are also updated (only when using perpetual inventory).
